THE JLC Story

Our Great-Grandfather,

… Stan Janicki, Sr. founded the Cedar Crest Shake Mill in 1932 to supply Skagit Valley residents with sturdy shakes for their homes. Following in his footsteps, his two sons Stan Janicki, Jr. and Walter Janicki opened the Janicki Logging Co. in 1957 and our family has been logging ever since.

Based out of Sedro-Woolley, WA along the banks of the mighty Skagit River, we are fourth-generation experts in forest stewardship. We specialize in green forestry projects which utilize advanced logging techniques to improve overall ecosystem health. In our practice, we prioritize our clients and the health of our forest lands.

Beyond logging, we have a thriving construction division which focuses on road and bridge construction, habitat restoration, land clearing, grading, and excavation. We also manage over 3000 acres of our own family tree farms.

With over 60 years of experience in the industry, we are proud to carry on the family tradition of sustainable forestry practices while researching and incorporating new technologies that can help achieve that goal.

As outdoor enthusiasts in our personal lives, we consider ourselves to be goodwill ambassadors for sustainable forestry practices in our professional lives. As the saying goes, no one cares more for the forest than a logger, and we at Janicki Logging and Construction exemplify this principle.

Our Grandmother

Annie Janicki, 1930-2013

Janicki Logging & Construction prides itself on giving back to our community - An important value our Grandma Annie instilled throughout our family generations ago. We believe that giving back helps build strongly connected communities, and with that in mind, JLC wants to be here to help those around us when we can. From building ballparks for local youth sports programs to supporting the Loggerodeo to providing timber that went to help build a local preschool - These sponsorships and donations are just some of the ways we’ve tried to be good neighbors.
